Hoppy Lou's La-La's

Hoppy Lou's La-La's was born when I let my four year old pick out material for his baby sister's blankie. He walked down the aisles, looking at the colors, and feeling his way with his hands. I was a bit dismayed when he stopped at the fuzziest orange fabric imaginable (one he felt before really seeing) and said, "this one!" I picked up a swatch of fabric that reminded me of the fur from a Sesame Street Character and thought, "What am I going to do with this?," but a promise was a promise and so orange fuzz it was! As we continued down the aisle, looking for material for the back-side of the blanket he stopped again - this time at a velvety lilac-colored fabric. I sat thinking how to turn these crazy materials into a blankie and watched my son rubbing his hands and his cheeks in the fabric that surrounded him, staring at their colors, playing with their fringes. I thought about my own blankies - some I loved for their color, some for their feel, some for the silly little tag I rubbed hours on end! "Huh," I thought - why not make a blankie that has them all? Within the year my infant daughter refused to be separated from her blanket. I made a few for friends and their children seemed to love them just as passionately. People started stopping me and asking where they could by one - hence, Hoppy Lou's La-La's.

Each one of these blankies is made the way I made that first one - by hand. Because each one is its own creation, the blankets you see listed below may or may not be available to order. It depends on what fabrics are selling at the time. If you see something you'd like, or would like to explore options for ordering something unique to your taste, please email me at hoppylouslalas@gmail.com Blankets are $35 plus actual shipping charges. Thanks!

Tiffany!
I finally saw your comment on my blog--I don't usually read comments from previous posts so I stumbled upon it today--so good to hear from you! You're a blogger, now, baby! Love the blankets, of course I'm one of the lucky recipients of one already which use literally every day. I keep it in the car so she can snuggle with it and chew the tags while we're drivin. Love that thing!
Keep in touch,
Karen
